The first time I ever saw the name of this song I thought the song would be about being on Prozac

given the album this song is on i don't think this is actually about a breakup from a romantic relationship. i think it's metaphorical. i think it's about how overwhelming stardom is and how you can be kinda pulled around and treated like a circus monkey. so, he has had to distance himself from engaging with the fandom - ie, having sex. he misses this and misses "seeing you blush," ie he misses feedback from people who are supportive/encouraging/excited by their work, but he has had to forgo these in order to cut out all the bad stuff people did/said that was getting to his head. that's my interpretation
